That this Jesus Christ is God and Man in one Person (1 Timothy 3:16), and without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of Angels, preached to the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Matthew 16:13: Jesus asked his Disciples, saying, whom do men say that I the Son of Man am?
Ver. 14. They said, some say you are John the Baptist, &c
Ver. 15. But whom say you that I am?
Ver. 16. Simon Peter answered, You are Christ, the Son of the living God.
Ver. 17. Jesus said to him, Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona, for flesh and blood has not revealed it to you, but my Father which is in heaven.
Ver. 18. And I say to you, You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.
