Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for the website at christianreader.app. The Christian Reader mobile app has its own policy linked from the App Store and Google Play listings.

Short version

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages get traffic. That's the only third-party tracker. There's no advertising, no data sales, no user accounts, and no email signup form (other than the optional reply field on the feedback page).

What gets collected

  • Page views and basic usage events — collected by Google Analytics 4. This includes which pages you visit, how long you stay, and which buttons (app store, downloads, search, translation toggle) you click. Google may also collect device, browser, and approximate location data per its standard policies.
  • Standard server logs — Firebase Hosting (the host) keeps the standard request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp). I don't actively review these.
  • Local storage in your browser — your preferred reading version (Original / Modern English) and a rate-limit timestamp for the feedback form. These stay on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.
  • Feedback form submissions — when you submit the feedback form, your message and (optionally) your email are sent via the third-party service Web3Forms to my inbox. If you provide an email, I use it only to reply.

What doesn't get collected

  • No advertising trackers.
  • No user accounts on the website.
  • No email mailing list.
  • No social-network "like" or share trackers.
  • No fingerprinting beyond what Google Analytics does by default.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies (typically _ga and related). These are used to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. The site does not use any other cookies. You can block these via your browser settings or a privacy extension; the site will continue to work normally without them.

Third parties

  • Google Analytics — usage analytics. See Google's privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts — typography (Inter, Playfair Display, Lora) loaded from fonts.googleapis.com. Google may log font requests.
  • Firebase Hosting — the website is served by Google Firebase. Standard hosting logs apply.
  • Web3Forms — handles feedback form submissions.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13. Personal information isn't knowingly collected from children. If you believe it has been, contact me via the feedback form and I'll delete it.

Changes

If material changes are made to this policy, the date at the top of the page will be updated.
