Chapter 23
Scripture referenced in this chapter 2
Q. What sort of doing the Law requires?
The Scripture is clear, that consummate, and continued in doing to the end is required by the Law. Paul interpreting Moses (Deuteronomy 26:27; Galatians 3:10): Cursed be every one, 〈 in non-Latin alphabet 〉 who does not continue in all that are written in the Law to do them. (Deuteronomy 26:27) Cursed is he who shall not confirm. It is a word they use in enacting of Laws, when we say, Be it enacted and ordained: the word in Piel is three times in the Book of Esther, to ordain by a Law. Which clearly says that the Covenant of Works was a work of justice and such a time God set to Adam, so as to the end he was to run it out, but how long he was a viator or traveler in his course of obedience no man knows.
