2. The Wants to Be Bewailed
The grace here to be desired, is sincerity of heart, or a ready and constant purpose and endeavor not to sin in any thing, but to do God's will, so as we may keep a good conscience before God and men (Acts 24:16). And for this cause I endeavor always to have a clear conscience toward God, and toward men. This must we hunger after, and pray for: seeing it is not sufficient to abstain from evil, but also to do good, and in doing good, strive to come to perfection. A conformity with Angels in this duty is to be sought for and to be begun in this life, that in the life to come we may be like them in glory.
